Mally and Perry

I have had the sad news that two of my Findowrie babies have recently died. Findowrie Son of a Gun (Perry) had lived a very long and happy family life with Brendan, Julie and Thomas for many years. He was very much loved and will be badly missed by the whole family. He had become a lovely, sedate old gentleman when I last visited him at Christmas. Night night God Bless Perrywinkle,Sleep in Peace xx Findowrie Bizzy Lizzy (Mally) died on Saturday. She was only four, but had lived for 4 years longer than she should have done....let me explain. When she and her sister were born on the 9/9 2009, some of her intestines had been pulled out of her body by the umbilical cord. I sent my husband off to the vets with her to have her put painlessly to sleep. "I can mend that" says my lovely vet....and goes ahead and does it, completely free of charge. If she dies I won't charge you, if she lives we'll have a party, was his only comment bless him. We didn't know if she would make it for a long time as I'd heard of similar cases having adhessions develop, but survive she did, and went to live with my very good friends Anne and David and her 1/2 sister Shona. Sadly, in the last year of her life,it was discovered that she had a heart valve problem.Whether it was the result of an infection at the time of her birth, no one will ever know, and on 12th October she was put painlessly to sleep, having enjoyed a short but utterly brilliant, hectic, full of fun, four years, one week and three days. Thank you Anne and David for loving her so much and giving her such a wonderful home. Sleep peacefully little Mally.xx Bye bye Findowrie kids, have a good catch up with all your other departed family members who have been so loved during their time on this earth xx

Lancashire and Cheshire Dachshund Show

We had a lovely time at the show on Saturday. My new baby Findowries Easter Bonnet, also known as Beckies, was at her first show. She's just 6 months and 5 days old, so had only just qualified for it, and is still a fat roly poly puppy, so she was really just going for a practice, and to get used to the noise and the atmosphere of a show. Anyway, bless her, she didn't put a paw wrong. She was happy and confident, stood on the table without any worries, and finished 3rd in the class behind much older puppies, and qualified for Crufts. Her half sister Darcia Rose has just moved up from Junior to Post Grad, as she is now 18 months old, and this has meant that both my other girls have had to move up to the next class, so I wasn't expecting a lot. Well....Darcia Rose only went and won her class, beating 9 others. Fascination, not to be outdone went out into a bit Limit Bitch class and came second bless her, and the Rings N Roses came fifth in an Open Bitch class of 16, beaten only by champions and almost champions. Brilliant. Well done the Findowrie show team, we are all very proud of you, particularly as you are all completely "home grown", having bred your Mums and Dads.

Findowrie Lady Georgia

Hi everybody, it's me, Georgia. I've been on the look out for quite a while for a new flat, something a bit more private and peaceful than the accomodation I share at Findowrie. Several people have been for an interview, but none of them have quite fitted the bill and been able to offer exactly what I've been looking for......until yesterday. Some friends visited that we haven't seen for several years, and they brought with them my half a brother Finn who has been very lonely since his friend Oscar travelled to Rainbow Bridge a few years ago. They were just the people I'd been looking for, very willing to pander to my every need, Finn says they're putty in his paws. Anyway, I went home with them first to inspect the premises, and see if it came up to scratch, and I've decided that I'm going to stay.Finn and I are getting on great, and we can soon sort out the staff if there's a problem. Bye for now. Lady Georgia.....you may call me Madam.x

Monday 12 August 2013

It has been three months since our lovely Benjamin left us for Rainbow Bridge, how quickly the time has gone. No one has yet stepped up into his shoes to become pack leader. I felt sure that either Murray or Lewis, or maybe even Tyree who is boss bitch, would have taken over the reins from him, but, obviously he is a hard act to follow. He was never a bossy dog, but a certain look put everyone in their place, they all respected him, he leaves a big basket to fill. God Bless Benny Boy, you are still very much loved and missed by us all. xx

Findowrie Society Lord

It has been a very sad day for us at Findowrie. My beautiful Champion Findowrie Society Lord, better known as Benjamin, passed away very peacefully in his sleep. He was 15 1/2 He has been a super dog, my first champion, and a gorgeous character. He will leave a great space in our lives and will be lovingly remembered when I look at my other dogs, who are all related to him. Benjamin was always a true gentleman, and I'm so relieved that I didn't have to make any decisions regarding his passing....he made the choice himself, such a considerate boy. We have buried him under the apple tree, next to his sister Bindy, and close to all his other relatives. Sleep in Peace my dear little man. We will meet again at Rainbow Bridge bye and bye.xx

Longhaired Dachshund Club Champ Show

We had a lovely day at the Longhaired Dachshund Club championship show today. Two of my girls....Findowrie Darcia Rose and Findowrie Rings N Roses were 4th in very good classes, but the highlight of the day was when my lovely shaded red girl, Findowries Fascination, was 1st in Yearling Bitch and then won the Reserve Challenge Certificate. This means that she has also earned her Stud Book Number and is now qualified for life for Crufts. Thanks Girls, you all looked beautiful, I was proud of you all xx

Crufts

We had a truly fantastic day at Crufts yesterday, despite the horrendous journey both ways. Champion Findowrie Skye Lord (Lewis) was 1st in the veteran class. He looked so gorgeous and could still hold his own in the younger classes. I had many nice comments about him, and he certainly carries his age well.We even had some stud enquiries. His daughters, the lovely shaded red girl Findowries Fascination (Carmen) and the gorgeous Findowrie Rings N Roses (Alice)kept the flag flying for Dad, with third and fourth in very good classes.Their cousin, Mr McDuff's daughter Findowrie Darcia Rose, was third in Puppy, her first visit to Crufts, and she really enjoyed the day. The only one to come home cardless was Findowrie Mr McDuff, dear little man, but he was shortlisted in his class, and came home with a hot date booked for later in the year, so he's not complaining. I had a brilliant, memorable day. Thank you Findowrie show team for taking me, loves you all xx

Miniature Dachshund Club

We had another good day at the Miniature Dachshund Club show last Sunday Findowrie Rings N Roses (Little Alice) got another first Findowrie Darcia Rose was second in her class, pretty good going as she'd moved up a class to junior from puppy to make way for her sister Findowrie Demi Rose who was making her debut. Unfortunately she was the only one not placed, I think she was just too excited by the whole show scene and was boinging off the walls like a coiled spring. She's a lovely little black and tan girl who has been slower to mature than her sister, but she will be out there again when she's settled down. Findowries Fascination (Carmen) was third in Yearling, and again she was in with much older girls. Findowrie Mr McDuff was fourth in a really good limit class. Well done the Findowries, really pleased with you all. What a dreadful journey home though, sleety snow which by the time we hit Shropshire was falling as thick snow. So relieved to get home safely, we just crashed out with a takeawy.....very lazy folk. Nothing now til Crufts so we can relax for three weeks and have a holiday.
